The Correct Guitarist Position

For proper seating, you need to:

  • Sit on the edge of a chair without armrests.
  • The height of the chair should be such that your thighs are parallel to the floor.
  • The feet naturally turn out to the sides.
  • The shoulders and the back should be straight.
  • Arms and hands without extra tension.
  • You will need a special guitar stand with suction cups. This will provide the correct guitar neck angle.
  • Or you will need a special footrest.

If your position is correct the pegs will be at the level of your face.

It is essential to make sure that your guitar is correctly fixed at 4 points.

  1. The stand or thigh of one leg.
  2. The second leg.
  3. The forearm right below the elbow.
  4. The chest.

If everything is correct, the guitar is well fixed, and your hands are free.

The pose of a musician with a classical guitar is different from that of a musician with an acoustic or electric guitar. Let's get it clear.
